ODBDSLC203 - Sketch

There is a Sketch challenge, ODBDSLC203, at Our Daily Bread Designs this week! Here is my card:

Elizabeth Whisson, Our Daily Bread Designs, ODBDDT, ODBD, Special Boy, monster truck, handmade card, ODBD Antique Labels and Border Dies, ODBD Rustic Beauty Paper Collection, happy birthday, boy card, male card, Copics

And this is the sketch:

It was my nephew's birthday last week (he turned 3!) and this is the card that I made for him. As you can see I've turned the sketch sideways and kind of flipped it so the bow is at the top. I umm'd and ahh'd about putting the "bow" on the card... but it's in the sketch (and I had already taken a few liberties with the layers!) - so I did add it in and while it makes it look a "little" girly...it's not too bad :-)

I have used Our Daily Bread Designs' Special Boy stamp set for this card with the gorgeous new paper pack from ODBD - Rustic Beauty Collection and added in my border from the ODBD Antique Labels and Border Dies. The monster truck stamp actually faces the other direction but I have mirror or reversed stamped it like I explain about the butterfly here in another post of mine.

  1. Oh, Elizabeth, what a darling card! Your nephew will LOVE it, and he won't know the difference between a "bow" and a "knot" at the top there! He's just LOVE this monster truck and that his sweet aunt made it especially for him. What a great take on this week's sketch! Hugs, sweet friend!

  5. Such a cute card! I love how you colored the truck with all that dirt around it. I skipped the bow on mine - I liked how you made the bow pretty subtle.

  7. Totally too cool! I doubt a 3year old would notice a bow with such an awesome monster truck on his card! Very awesome indeed!
