The challenge this week at Our Daily Bread Designs is an Inspiration challenge.
Here is the card I made:
And here is the inspiration:
The plain cardstock that I have used is Bazzill heavyweight and textured card. The DP that I've used is from the ODBD Shabby Rose Paper Collection.
To make the background piece of my card I first made my own stencil by diecutting into a piece of card using ODBD Clouds and Raindrops dies. Here is a photo of my stencil:
I then used the stencil to ink the clouds and raindrops onto my DP using Distress Ink Worn Lipstick.
I've diecut two umbrellas using ODBD Umbrellas dies (from plain cardstock) and then diecut the umbrella top pieces (from ODBD Shabby Rose Paper Collection) using the same ODBD Umbrellas dies and stenciled them using Distress Ink Worn Lipstick. I ended up covering the base of the umbrellas more than I originally intended... but the umbrella on the right has actually been flipped over (the handle curves around to the left, instead of to the right like it normally would). The top of the umbrella die is symmetrical so the top pieces still fit perfectly.
I've stamped the sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs April Showers using Memento Tuxedo Black and diecut using ODBD Pennant dies. I've then matted this with a piece I cut using ODBD Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies.
I've also diecut some leaves using ODBD Fancy Foliage dies (inked with Distress Ink Pine Needles while still in the die) and a fence using ODBD Fence die.
Lastly I added some flowers and pearls from my stash.

You made your own stencil! How clever! And I was wondering how to use that smaller umbrella inset die! Haha! Thanks so much for sharing such a wonderful card.
ReplyDeleteThe background idea was quite brilliant and the umbrellas are sensational. The sweet pink flowers are a sign of hope of things yet to come. Thank you so much for posting your very beautiful art with us this week at Word Art Wednesday. We hope to see you again next week.
