ODBDSLC188 - Pink, Red and White

The challenge this week at Our Daily Bread Designs is a pink, red and white colour challenge. I created a birthday card using the Canning Jars, Canning Jar Fillers, Bookmarks-Scripture and All Occasion Sentiments stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs. I cut out two of the canning jars using one of the ODBD custom canning jar dies.

Elizabeth Whisson, Our Daily Bread Designs, Canning Jars, Canning Jar Fillers, Scripture Bookmarks, Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms

We would love to see your creations!!

Some more photos of my card:
I masked and stamped the canning jars and added in the fillers. Then drew in my "shelf" with a black Copic multiliner. I love the canning jars they are so versatile and can be used for so many different designs and projects!
This canning jar has part of one of the stamps from the Our Daily Bread Designs Bookmarks-Scripture inside. I just stamped the first part of the verse and then added the scripture reference at the bottom.
The flowers were made using Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms, sponged with DI Spun Sugar. I then misted them with water and used a stylus and a foam pad to "crease" the petals a little. Rolled up the flowers and once they were glued and dried I added my homemade glimmer mist, some glossy accents and Stickles to the petals.
(For my glimmer mist I used a combination of Perfect Peals "Perfect Pearl", Distress Ink Spun Sugar (the rei-inker) and water. I found this site which tells you how to make it.)
I am entering this card in Word Art Wednesday - Challenge #116 - Anything Goes.

Materials used:
Copics:
   Canning Jars - C0, C2, C4, C6

ODBDSLC187 - Inspiration Challenge

Really enjoyed creating this card for the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge 187 - Inspiration Challenge.

This is my card:
Our Daily Bread Designs, Alshandra's Corner, Canning Jars, Poppy single, Fleur de Lis Borders, Scripture Collection 11, Elizabeth Whisson, ODBD Custom bookmark dies

It has a removeable bookmark:
Our Daily Bread Designs, Alshandra's Corner, Canning Jars, Poppy single, Fleur de Lis Borders, Scripture Collection 11, Elizabeth Whisson, ODBD Custom bookmark dies

And this was the inspiration:

I was inspired by the flowers in the jar (hence my poppy in the canning jar) and then the colours from the image on the left - loved the creams with bits of blue :-)

I had to do a bit of masking to get the poppy in the jar. I stamped the poppy bud (ODBD Poppy single) hanging down the front of the jar, masked it and then inked and stamped the jar (ODBD Canning Jars) except for the very top part (so it left it "open"). I then masked the "rim" of the jar and stamped the rest of the poppy over the top. I filled in a few "missing bits" with a Copic multiliner (such as the rim of the jar and I extended the poppy's stem). I added the words of the verse to the background of the poppy using a 20% warm grey pencil. The bookmark was then cut out using one of the ODBD Custom Bookmark Dies.

The verse is from ODBD Scripture Collection 11 and it is surrounded by one of the ODBD Fleur de Lis Borders. It is cut out with the Spellbinders Curved Rectangles; however, the die was a little long so I diecut the whole lot first and then made it a little shorter by recutting each end again, separately, with the die.

I made a little pocket for the bookmark to sit in and coloured a cream ribbon and bow with a Copic marker to match the rest of the card.

Another photo of my card:
Our Daily Bread Designs, Alshandra's Corner, Canning Jars, Poppy single, Fleur de Lis Borders, Scripture Collection 11, Elizabeth Whisson, ODBD Custom bookmark dies

I love this verse as it is so true (as is all of God's Word!) It's a reminder that even though we may think (or it seems that) God does not care about us or love us, he does! We can have faith in Him that He will always provide for us what is best; and we do not have to worry about our lives, "as to what we will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on" (Matthew 6:25) - God will always be there for us, loving us.

I am entering this card in the Word Art Wednesday challenge #115 - Anything goes.

CAS #1

CAS is not my usual style but sometimes its nice to make a quicker card! Both the below card and this one are from Annabelle stamps and coloured with Copics.

This is Lil Monster Valentine (although I used him for a birthday card):
Elizabeth Whisson, Annabelle Stamps, Lil Monster, happy birthday, CAS, copic

I am entering this card in:
1. Annabelle stamps challenge AC175 - a sketch
2. Simon Says Stamp - Monday Challenge - Anything Goes;
3. As you like it - favourite CAS design - as I said at the top of my post, I'm not big on CAS cards but this design has appealed to me and I made a few cards using this design over the weekend (didn't post them all!);
4. Through the craft room door challenge - Anything Goes;
5. Papertake Weekly Challenge - New Year New Stash - Both of the Annabelle Stamp sets that I've used on this card are new to me - got them for Christmas :-) ;
6. Creative Craft Challenges 2 - New - these two stamps sets that I've used on my card are new to me - got them for Christmas; and
7. Incy Wincy Designs - Add Texture - I used the Copic colourless blender to give Lil Monster's "hair/fur" texture and have added liquid pearls to the sunflower and glossy accents to the bow on the present.

Some more photos:
I used the Copic colourless blender to create the texture on Lil Monster's "hair/fur". I would normally apply it using a cloth or some type of material but this time I just used the brush nib and pressed down in little rows of "rectangles".
Added liquid pearls "pumpkin" and "buttercup" for texture on my sunflower. I also added glossy accents to the bow on the present but it didn't photograph very well.
Copics:
   Hat and shirt - BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78
   Hair/Fur - W1, W3, W5 and BV25 for shadow
   Sunflower - Y11, Y17, YR04, E31, E55, YG21, YG23, YG25
   Present - Y11, Y17, YR04, B91, B95 and BV25 for shadow
   Eyes, Tooth and toenails - E40
   Ground - W1, W3, W5, W7
Stamps: Annabelle Stamps "Lil Monster Valentine" and "Helen's Party" (sentiment)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Distress Ink Iced Spruce
Cardstock / DP: Creativ textured (grey), X-Press It blending card and DP from Annabelle stamps mini paper stack
Dies: None
Other: Liquid pearls "pumpkin" and "buttercup", Inkssentials glossy accents, clear embossing powder (on "happy birthday") and double sided tape.

CAS #2

My second CAS card's main image is from the Annabelle stamps Helen's Party stamp set (see my other one here):

Close up of "Helen":
Sorry - lighting was a bit "off" on this one but couldn't "fix" it properly (more learning of paint shop pro required!) - this is as best as it turned out - a little too much contrast but you get the idea.

Baby Fairy Birthday

Enjoyed making this card and candle (scroll down) for a friend's 25th birthday.

Mo Manning Baby Fairy Sip, Elizabeth Whisson, copic

The stamp is Mo Manning - Baby Fairy Sip. I used a plain Copic B0000 background but then added in some butterflies with my Copics using a Prima Marketing butterfly stencil - thanks to Marie Gamber from her background class at Color Me Creative for this technique.

Some more pictures:
Mo Manning Baby Fairy Sip, Elizabeth Whisson
The fairy wings, butterflies, flower and fairy hair has clear glitter pen added. Glossy accents are on the flower and the dots on the fairy's clothes.

The flowers are from Kaisercraft and Green Tara - all originally white. I coloured them with Copic R00 various ink, R02 and R05 markers then added colourless blender various ink. They then got sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Vanilla Breeze and Stickles stardust added to the tips.

Just had to put in another picture...this one has slightly different lighting to the first photo I took and I just couldn't decide between the two...so I've added both :-)
