I recently had someone ask me to make five large (A4 size*) Christmas cards. I've never made a card that big, let alone five of them! All of the dies I have would've looked too small on the large card, so I chose to use a digi stamp and enlarged it (a lot!) to fill up the front of my card. The image I've used is from Powerpoppy called Poinsettia and Pomegranates. I used artistic licence and made my pomegranates blue instead of red :-)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Copic colours used:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Poinsettia: R89, R37, R24, R14 and R12</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Poinsettia centre: Y17 and Y13</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Pomegranates: B37, B34, B32 and Y17 </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Pomegranate leaves: YG67, YG17, YG23, YG21 with a dash of Y13 on a few leaves </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thin leaves: G29, G24 and G20</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As I had to make five of these in a short amount of time they are not blended as much as I would normally colour them. Pretty much just chucked the colour on but I'm happy with how they turned out anyway :-)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've used a black A3*, 210 gsm card as my base and then used Bazzill heavyweight cardstock for the layers to make it more stable. I added a white piece on the inside too to study up the back piece. I've added some chunky white and gold embossing frantage (I think it's called Shabby White) to the corners and inked the edges with Distress Ink Festive Berries.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The Merry Christmas is also a digi stamp from PowerPoppy 'Chickadee in Barberry' but I've just removed the "to you" part.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I also added some mini prills to the centre of the poinsettia.</div>

Wow! I wasn't planning on being away from my blog and cardmaking for that long (just looked at my last post and it was November 2016!) - I have been soooo busy this last year - but I guess everyone else has too.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This year I have stepped up to be the Kingdom Kids Coordinator (Sunday School for 4 - 7 year olds) at our church and teach most weeks. I've also taken on our church broadcaster (newsletter) each week and my paid work (even though I'm doing the same hours as last year) is now spread out over 4 days. We been on our "lifestyle" block for just over two years now and loving it - but it's definitely more work than being in town! But I'm loving tending to the garden (vegetables and fruit trees) and animals (we even had baby ducks this year!) - so I've been a tad busier than before and haven't found as much time for cardmaking.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've really enjoyed teaching the little kids at our church about God and seeing them grow in their knowledge and love for Him and I've done a lot of learning and growing at the same time!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've also done two, one day bible courses this year through the <a href="https://www.ttc.wa.edu.au/" target="_blank">Trinity Theological College</a>. They run some units in the South West of Western Australia through their <a href="https://www.ttc.wa.edu.au/certificates/current-units/" target="_blank">Trinity in Town</a> program. Earlier this year we did a <a href="https://www.ttc.wa.edu.au/certificates/all-units/" target="_blank">unit</a> called The Framework: Seeing the Christian Truth as a Whole and then we just finished a unit on Life in the Last Days: Revelation (still finishing off my assignment for this unit). All of the units I've done have been fantastic (I've now done 8) and it gives me a renewed sense of how awesome, majestic, wonderful and marvelous our God is - and yet, those who don't trust in Jesus, are sadly going to spend eternity away from Him. It really saddens me to see people all around me blinded to how wonderful God is. I need to keep reminding myself to take every opportunity to tell these people about Jesus and what He has done! But also to keep encouraging the Christians I fellowship with too! I am grateful to those friends who continue to encourage me! One friend recently told me about <a href="https://thebibleproject.com/" target="_blank">The Bible Project's website</a> - and even though I've only watched two of their videos so far - I found it a great, if very quick, overview of the book of the bible (I watched the <a href="https://thebibleproject.com/explore/revelation/" target="_blank">Revelation videos</a>). They appear to have done videos for most (if not all?) books of the Bible - you should have a look.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But I have spent some time in my craft room this year making some cards and I wanted to share a few with you.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
This is one I made for a work colleague who went on maternity leave.</div>

It has been a while since I have been on here and I have to say it will probably be a while before I am on here again. Life has become just a little bit busy, maybe a tad stressful at times and my cardmaking has sadly suffered for it. On the upside I have been spending some more time outside in the garden and enjoying God's beautiful creation (along with the dog, sheep, chickens and duck).<br />
<br />
"<i>The heavens declare the glory of God;</i><br />
<i>the skies proclaim the work of his hands.</i>"<br />
Psalm 19:1 </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I did spend a little bit of time making some cards for our local Brunswick Show (one of Australia's biggest one day shows). I was thrilled to get 5 firsts, two seconds and a highly commended. I also took out the overall cardmaking trophy (third year in a row!!). </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Both of my daughters also entered items this year. The eldest won first for her chocolate brownies and second for an "item using a gluing technique" - she made a paper mache turtle. The youngest won second for her salt dough bowl that she made and painted.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

I love my Copic markers and I've been using them for about 4 years now and its been a big learning curve - but you can always learn more. I've found <a href="http://www.kitandclowder.com/" target="_blank">Kit & Clowder</a> to be a great community of inspiration, learning and fun and am glad I found their <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/kitandclowder" target="_blank">facebook community</a> and Alyce's online classes. </div>

Alyce announced a while back that she is getting married in October this year and wanted the community to join in. She offered a free wedding rose colouring class (<a href="https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.876453922482878&type=1" target="_blank">more info on the FB page here</a>) and once coloured, we can send the rose(s) to her and Jon. </div>

I had intended to enter the <a href="http://ourdailybreaddesignsblog.blogspot.com.au/2016/07/odbdslc276-anything-that-grows-with-odbd.html" target="_blank">Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light monthly challenge</a> quite a few weeks ago but only just got around to making my card this week! Better late than never right?? :-) Here is my card:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdF-cefv45leNnfbd-EiChiJ9fq2vG2GzxIeY41sQoOS_-FHqcDnQvnEue9JIvK1K_L2-EjKixq0wQGO-QyQWKaanv9Vni2MBOnQ6t_Jgu_1vcZmG_E1-xxKXyI4O0gzehZaecZYVIEEHs/s1600/DSC_3724a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Elizabeth Whisson, Alshandra, Our Daily Bread Designs, Fragrance, prismacolor pencils, flowers, butterflies, with love, double stitched rectangles, bitty butterflies, lovely leaves, mini tags and labels, mini tag sentiments, handmade card" border="0" height="378" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdF-cefv45leNnfbd-EiChiJ9fq2vG2GzxIeY41sQoOS_-FHqcDnQvnEue9JIvK1K_L2-EjKixq0wQGO-QyQWKaanv9Vni2MBOnQ6t_Jgu_1vcZmG_E1-xxKXyI4O0gzehZaecZYVIEEHs/s640/DSC_3724a.jpg" title="Elizabeth Whisson, Alshandra, Our Daily Bread Designs, Fragrance, prismacolor pencils, flowers, butterflies, with love, double stitched rectangles, bitty butterflies, lovely leaves, mini tags and labels, mini tag sentiments, handmade card" width="600" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The challenge was <a href="http://ourdailybreaddesignsblog.blogspot.com.au/2016/07/odbdslc276-anything-that-grows-with-odbd.html" target="_blank">"Anything that grows"</a> - I've stamped the image from Our Daily Bread Designs "Fragrance" numerous times onto kraft cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with prismacolor pencils. I've then diecut the piece using Our Daily Bread Designs Double Stitched Rectangles dies. I've also used ODBD Bitty Butterflies, ODBD Lovely Leaves dies, ODBD Bitty Blossoms dies, ODBD Mini Tags and Labels dies and ODBD Mini Tag Sentiments stamp set. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

Spent a lovely afternoon yesterday colouring in this digital stamp from PowerPoppy called "Sweet Simple Things". I just adore PowerPoppy images!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYNobz_Yd86Fd807KoVGLrfGH2pTw1C_GNRy2V9G5zd9pvBRyel_i_WxcmJon8uT1xoJpeVjNrSI-axF18KW7kzK_aVcc1W9DcKm1SoNttE7tTDQ7WFF6T6rdDSMVdJTJgeFbWTd-00kmU/s1600/DSC_3716a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="474" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYNobz_Yd86Fd807KoVGLrfGH2pTw1C_GNRy2V9G5zd9pvBRyel_i_WxcmJon8uT1xoJpeVjNrSI-axF18KW7kzK_aVcc1W9DcKm1SoNttE7tTDQ7WFF6T6rdDSMVdJTJgeFbWTd-00kmU/s640/DSC_3716a.jpg" width="600" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've printed the digital stamp onto X-Press It blending card and coloured with Copic markers. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Copic colours used include BV11, BV13, BV17, RV13, RV17, YR21, YR27, Y06, Y15, Y17, Y26, Y38, YG25, YG61, YG63, YG67, G21, G24, G28, E70, E74, E79, C1, C4 and C6.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I was undecided about the background but eventually went for an ombre green of YG67 at the bottom, YG63 in the middle and YG61 at the top, instead of usually green for grass and blue for sky. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've stamped bees from Our Daily Bread Designs Butterfly and Bugs onto X-Press It blending card, coloured with Copics and diecut with ODBD Butterfly and Bugs dies. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For the little butterfly I took one of the sentiments from PowerPoppy Juicy Strawberries and printed it really small (I also stretched it out horizontally) and then diecut with the butterfly die from ODBD Butterfly and Bugs dies. Added a little BV Copic around the outside and then blended it back out with the colourless blender. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The butterfly and bees are popped up on foam tape and I've added some glossy accents to all the bees' wings. The ribbon I used originally had white dots but my Y17 Copic fixed that :-)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's a little hard to see but the second yellow flower from the left also has a little love-heart see-through button glued in the centre :-)<br />
<br />
I am entering my card in the <a href="http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com.au/2016/07/time-to-b-happy.html" target="_blank">PowerPoppy Power & Spark challenge - B Happy</a> - to make things that start with "B" the focus of your card. I have a beehive, bees, butterfly and button :-)<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
This is the card (above) I made in the Step by Step instructions. The image is a digital stamp from Mo Manning (Mother to be) and it is all coloured with Copic markers (although the same principles in the tutorial can be applied to other marker brands and even pencils). I've also used a rubber stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs "As You Graduate" for the sentiment.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
The tutorial also includes a video. Below is the card I did in the video tutorial.</div>

Today I'm sharing a fairy image I coloured called "Daphne" by Whimsy Stamps (digital stamp).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1BeAP3dsymduMaBpaKEbifJ3ftlrFliD86QVXk3KCV6cIGKW_I96LYzXFawkj22gDFdGYBuq2LH29LApcOCt9qjq9onRnkGhyv-Q6PHr1b-cwwAiCHLWU5zO1A7QYl112RS_xyjoEf0MO/s1600/DSC_3013a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="574" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1BeAP3dsymduMaBpaKEbifJ3ftlrFliD86QVXk3KCV6cIGKW_I96LYzXFawkj22gDFdGYBuq2LH29LApcOCt9qjq9onRnkGhyv-Q6PHr1b-cwwAiCHLWU5zO1A7QYl112RS_xyjoEf0MO/s640/DSC_3013a.jpg" width="600" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Copic marker colours I used to colour her are:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Background: C1, C2, C3, B60, B000, B01</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hair: E21, YR31, E35, E27</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Skin: E00, E21, E11, E04, R81 (blush)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Dress, socks and headband: B00, B02, BG45, BG49</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Wings and shoes: B01 and BG11</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Little flowers: Y15, Y38</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Large flower: Y00, Y02, Y15, Y38, YR04, R17</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Leaves and stem: G12, G24, G46</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The paper flowers in the bottom left and top right were originally white and coloured with BG11 and BG45 Copic markers. I've then added some Doodlebug Design inc. sprinkles - Tangerine glitter assortment.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Cardstock I used includes X-Press It blending card, Bazzill heavyweight cardstock - Robin's Egg (lighter one) and I think the other one is called Candy Necklace. I've also got a white piece of Bazzill (marshmallow) inside the card. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This card was made for a friend's daughters birthday :-)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am entering my card in the following challenges:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1. <a href="http://abc-challenge.blogspot.com.au/2016/06/i-is-for-important.html" target="_blank">ABC Challenge - I is for Important</a> - birthday card; and</div>

It was my Mum's birthday a few weeks ago and this is the card I made for her.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQJ9NfAqdgBxzFIa09wfuGb1lZ_LP2MSFjrnNqmf0kEsBDCc7xYrKnzx033B8X29RRaAEH0hQ9g3vshczTzWQLd5ezHciN7Hk4QmEHtklpbQgxajeAslaM1YHYpZJ4N1YhzF898uTvhALt/s1600/DSC_2719acd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Tulips in hobnail pitcher, Copics, PowerPoppy, AnnaBelle Stamps, birthday, handmade card, flowers, jug, vase, Elizabeth Whisson, Alshandra" border="0" height="600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQJ9NfAqdgBxzFIa09wfuGb1lZ_LP2MSFjrnNqmf0kEsBDCc7xYrKnzx033B8X29RRaAEH0hQ9g3vshczTzWQLd5ezHciN7Hk4QmEHtklpbQgxajeAslaM1YHYpZJ4N1YhzF898uTvhALt/s640/DSC_2719acd.jpg" title="Tulips in hobnail pitcher, Copics, PowerPoppy, AnnaBelle Stamps, birthday, handmade card, flowers, jug, vase, Elizabeth Whisson, Alshandra" width="600" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The image is a digital stamp "Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher" by PowerPoppy (love those images!) and the sentiment is from AnnaBelle Stamps "Standing Tall". I've partially diecut the image using a circle die and fussy cut the rest. Layered the image and added some enamel dots to finish.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1LtTwXvqRuBSPWePYZzSboXszucPTekgINpAoebfDL3gN1yXJD8W6n4ehvb28TdlCdoAmaDF_0lC6e46y1E0YqWro7OfmuVqbysfcyarddhBNgGIREmb_yYvofjx1rqNyDVH4rJCuuw2F/s1600/20160505_163858_a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1LtTwXvqRuBSPWePYZzSboXszucPTekgINpAoebfDL3gN1yXJD8W6n4ehvb28TdlCdoAmaDF_0lC6e46y1E0YqWro7OfmuVqbysfcyarddhBNgGIREmb_yYvofjx1rqNyDVH4rJCuuw2F/s320/20160505_163858_a.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Copic colours used</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you can't see the Copic colours in the image: RV00, E53, E97, RV17, RV69, G28, RV29, 0, G24, BG78, E99, RV13, E07 and G20.<br />
<br />
<br />
I then made my mum some flowers in a box :-)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRP1lQBd0lSbawJ1pp8yX8lL7cOiWsHtpLqNTK2eAVIlBOODZZURk62p4sOqZlDw56jwzXUFVtOOri6yw8QAI4PQmYxxumEVQWB5zDcHH868dQ-iU5iTuV1I3LyHX4HVRCjd0e32ZyLzE5/s1600/DSC_2729acd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Elizabeth Whisson, Alshandra, Sizzix bigz dies, Flower layers #7, flower layers with heart petal, dragonfly, we r memory keepers gift box punch board, split pins, bouquet, ladybug, ladybird, handmade" border="0" height="600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRP1lQBd0lSbawJ1pp8yX8lL7cOiWsHtpLqNTK2eAVIlBOODZZURk62p4sOqZlDw56jwzXUFVtOOri6yw8QAI4PQmYxxumEVQWB5zDcHH868dQ-iU5iTuV1I3LyHX4HVRCjd0e32ZyLzE5/s640/DSC_2729acd.jpg" title="Elizabeth Whisson, Alshandra, Sizzix bigz dies, Flower layers #7, flower layers with heart petal, dragonfly, we r memory keepers gift box punch board, split pins, bouquet, ladybug, ladybird, handmade" width="600" /></a></div>
<br />
The flowers are all diecut using Sizzix "Flower Layers with Heart Petal" and "Flower Layers #7" bigz dies. I first glued some designer paper together to make it double sided, then diecut the flowers. Curled / rumbled them a bit with some foam and a stylus, then layered them together and fastened with a split pin. I wound some thin wire to the back side of the split pins for stalks. The box is made using We R Memory Keepers Gift Box punch board. I then scrunched up some scrap paper and glued it in the box so I had something to push my flower stalks in to. Once all the flowers were in place I added some Perfect Pearls and sprayed with a little water. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It was my nephew's birthday a while ago and I've always wanted to do a brick wall with my Copics (I hardly every use the chisel end!) - I thought Mo Manning's "Playing Firefighter" was a great opportunity to try it!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The image is coloured with Copics. I started with the background (in case I messed up the brick wall) and used the chisel end and a few different colours to create the wall.</div>

The image is a digital stamp "G-fa" by Mo Manning. Such a gorgeous little giraffe! Coloured with Copic markers - see below for colours.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've diecut some letters using Lawn Fawn Quinn's ABCs and the flags from Lawn Fawn's Stitched Journaling Card and then added some glossy accents on top. I stitched some buttons onto the designer paper before adhering to my card base.</div>

I know I'm a bit late posting Mother's Day cards....but these are the two I made for my mum and mother-in-law.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Both use digital stamps - Easy Breezy Coneflowers image and the sentiment from Flowering Branches - both from PowerPoppy. I've printed the images twice for each card and diecut one of them using Our Daily Bread Designs Stitched ovals dies. I've coloured the diecut piece using Copics and then adhered to the other image using foam tape. I scored around the edge of the white piece using my scorpal. Nice and quick and simple.</div>

I can't believe February was my last post - and it's now nearly June!! I've been so caught up in school, work and living on our new property that I haven't picked up my Copics (or made cards) as much as I would've liked. But I have been doing some things - just haven't got around to posting!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A while ago I held an "open house" for friends and family to come and have a chat / do some craft activities while the kids played and also did some colouring-in. This is one piece I coloured for that day.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The image is a digital stamp "tulips" by PowerPoppy and has been coloured using Prismacolor pencils on Canson Mi Tientes card.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The stamp and die are both from Our Daily Bread Designs - Scripture Collection 9 and Recipe and Tags Dies.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Again, I usually use Copics to colour my stamped images but today I've used Prismacolor pencils. The image is a digital stamp called "Everything's Rosy" from PowerPoppy. The sentiment I have used is from Annabelle Stamps "Standing Tall". The edges are inked with Distress Ink Worn Lipstick. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I usually colour my stamped images with Copics, so this time I've used prismacolor pencils. The flower image is a digital stamp called Easy Breezy Coneflowers from PowerPoppy that I've fussy cut once coloured. The sentiment is from Annabelle Stamps "Designer Flower". The card shape is diecut with Spellbinders Majestic Elements Resplendent Rectangles and the sentiment is diecut with Spellbinders Fancy Framed Tags Two. The ribbon is also from Annabelle Stamps and the enamel dots are from Doodlebug Designs. </div>

No, this is not a blog post about explaining the mechanics of reproduction to children...but it is literally about Birds and Bees :-)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I discovered this wonderful <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/birdsandthebees/" target="_blank">group on facebook</a> (you will probably need to be a member to see the page) run by <a href="http://brandidayton.blogspot.com.au/" target="_blank">Brandi Dayton</a>, who I understand sadly had a tragic loss in her family not too long ago. She has used her art as a way of coping with her loss and decided to share 6 free mixed media projects with the theme "Birds and the Bees".</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The group is currently up to Project 4, but I've only finished number 1 not long ago (but there are more people joining all the time so we are all at different stages). The great thing about the group is that whether you're a beginner artist or professional, there is something for you. Those of us, like me, who don't delve into mixed media a lot (and don't often draw my own stuff (although I do like to draw and am trying to find time to draw more often)), you are able to follow the videos more exactly and Brandi helps with any drawing that is required. But if you're a professional or mixed media is something you do a lot, you can use Brandi's projects as inspiration and I see a lot of people putting their own style into the pieces as they share their finished works in the facebook group.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I followed Brand's first project quite closely but did do all the drawing myself :-)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoIzknnF7v2JICX0LL1DGnFM6Z9EB1hOJRSHpPNOPp9MQWlUjKzoYZTFAfseEKJ7J5kiCLs_usUWZS16_mgm4My4owxauQbURXNVldPiUn3mPTPmgNen35KJ_IZ9QiI-n11chXGa1EOClG/s1600/DSC_2424acd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Elizabeth Whisson, Birds and the Bees, flowers, mixed media, wood painting panel, Alshandra, prismacolor, watercolour, acrylic" border="0" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoIzknnF7v2JICX0LL1DGnFM6Z9EB1hOJRSHpPNOPp9MQWlUjKzoYZTFAfseEKJ7J5kiCLs_usUWZS16_mgm4My4owxauQbURXNVldPiUn3mPTPmgNen35KJ_IZ9QiI-n11chXGa1EOClG/s640/DSC_2424acd.jpg" title="Elizabeth Whisson, Birds and the Bees, flowers, mixed media, wood painting panel, Alshandra, prismacolor, watercolour, acrylic" width="600" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This first project is on a wood painting panel (mine is 12" x 16") and uses arcylics (I used a mix of Jo Sonja's and Atelier brands), coloured pencils (I used prismacolors), watercolours (I used Winsor and Newton) and Posca Pens (I used PC-3M white and black).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I sealed my wood painting panel with Jo Sonja's All Purpose Sealer before applying the black acrylic paint to the whole board and sides. I then followed Brandi's videos pretty closely although I did use a white pencil to lightly draw my image before going over it with the white Posca pen. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
All the links are in the facebook group and also on <a href="http://brandidayton.blogspot.com.au/" target="_blank">Brandi's website</a>. The direct link on her website to <a href="http://brandidayton.blogspot.com/2016/01/let-me-tell-you-bout-birds-and-bees.html" target="_blank">Project 1 is here</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As I said above mixed media is not my forte but I really enjoyed this project and can't wait to actually sit down and start project number 2 (a watercolour piece). I've been trying to "find time" for about two weeks now! How do we get so busy??! Anyway, I hope to share piece number two with you when it's finished.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thanks for looking :-)</div>

I'm so excited today to be joining the <a href="http://scrapping4funchallenges.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Scrapping4FunChallenges</a> site as a<br />
Guest Designer for Challenge #59!!<br />
<br />
The Challenge is a Birthday theme using a stamp (digi or clear/rubber). You can make a layout, card, canvas, mini album or "off the page" creation - I've made a card: </div>

School has recently started here in Western Australia and as we moved house last year my kids are going to a new school this year. To get to their new school they are traveling on the school bus for the first time. To make it all special for them I made them these "bus books" (with special bags to keep them safe/clean) that they can write and draw in during the trip. (Well it's really a decorated front of a bought spiral bound notepad.) They are enjoying the bus trips and are excited to look out the window as they go along but they both also love their books and I enjoy seeing what the write/draw :-)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here are the books:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiK4qdKD9pxgRYGsyUCsxeWcWII0GdgN3p12vDN2QmuSqMoJOmu4uZ5dPUEYrKcC1ikvyoQrbGgAGxqUymXS925DYqoTqi6mjPSkVspCFEFZuNmI0WFzlPYqDrXeBrfbhW3ddQT-U9iwGv/s1600/DSC_2353acd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Elizabeth Whisson, Alshandra, Whimsy Stamps, Rowan Fairy, Copic markers, Copic, Sketch, clouds, stickles" border="0" height="600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiK4qdKD9pxgRYGsyUCsxeWcWII0GdgN3p12vDN2QmuSqMoJOmu4uZ5dPUEYrKcC1ikvyoQrbGgAGxqUymXS925DYqoTqi6mjPSkVspCFEFZuNmI0WFzlPYqDrXeBrfbhW3ddQT-U9iwGv/s640/DSC_2353acd.jpg" title="Elizabeth Whisson, Alshandra, Whimsy Stamps, Rowan Fairy, Copic markers, Copic, Sketch, clouds, stickles" width="600" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The image is Rowan Fairy by Whimsy Stamps. It is printed on X-Press It blending card and coloured with Copic markers.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Copic colours used:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Clouds: C00, C1, C2, C3, BG90, W1</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Sky: BG000, BG0000, BG01</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Clothes: V01, V04, V06, V09 + E41, C1 and 0</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hair: YR21, E21, E25, E29</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Berries: YR04, YR07, YR18, R17</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Branch: E21, E23, E25</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Leaves: YG21, YG23, FYG2</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Wings: Y06, Y18, YR15</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Cast shadow: C3</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've then added some Stickles for sparkle and inked the edge with Distress Ink.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5YltTe4_q-0usZDlbWhrr6TDfXWzDpUwJN4vU4ULjTp6OUlIKzijKcvAlY3hFvk8ammHE9Acqh83-S6JT7xbKjK786FSnRN1kNXRfyfeoRgsWbZ-RBrCLSDh7LYp2VIXyEtD-uMjSG10g/s1600/DSC_2347acd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Elizabeth Whisson, Alshandra, Bird Swing, Whimsy Stamps, Copic, Sketch, Copic bokeh background, " border="0" height="600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5YltTe4_q-0usZDlbWhrr6TDfXWzDpUwJN4vU4ULjTp6OUlIKzijKcvAlY3hFvk8ammHE9Acqh83-S6JT7xbKjK786FSnRN1kNXRfyfeoRgsWbZ-RBrCLSDh7LYp2VIXyEtD-uMjSG10g/s640/DSC_2347acd.jpg" title="Elizabeth Whisson, Alshandra, Bird Swing, Whimsy Stamps, Copic, Sketch, Copic bokeh background, " width="600" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This one is Bird Swing by Whimsy Stamps. It is again printed on X-Press It blending card and coloured with Copics. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I did the background first (just in case I messed it up)! I kind of (you don't need to be exact) blended YG0000, YG00, YG01, Y11, Y06, YG11, YG23, YG17, YG67 randomly over the background (but I concentrated the lighter colours in the top left) then used my colourless blender marker to soften some edges. I then dripped colouress blender various ink (straight from the various ink bottle) over the background randomly to create the large circles. You need to be a little careful where you drip it as you don't want the colour spreading too far into your image. However, I did get green all over my birds, but I let it dry and then used the colourless blender marker to push the colour back out to the background. I like this background as it kind of gives a bokeh-like background - like you were looking at the birds with a shrub blurred in the background :-)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Copic colours used:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Background: YG0000, YG00, YG01, Y11, Y06, YG11, YG23, YG17, YG67, 0 and 0 various ink</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Flowers: RV21, RV23, RV25, RV29</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Birds: B00, B21, B23, B26, B28 + Y06 and YR15</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Wood: E70, E74, E77, E79</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Leaves: G24 and G28</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once again I added some Stickles for sparkle and inked the edge with Distress Ink.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thanks for looking!</div>

For the last card that I made today I have used stamps from <a href="http://ourdailybreaddesigns.com/" target="_blank">Our Daily Bread Designs</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF2KuQl25qpm2GsDbMZlbF28R9XWzO1hFkbw7Uyb3nXizgUowrgcpajFk8zl2TgvMWjMOfFpPyEcP-7XDgOxrFveDRft3xkbBgJIkRwsL3jFjOmiGmQJN6BG_3uT5GGEGOGqI5egSHoj_n/s1600/DSC_2368acd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Elizabeth Whisson, Alshandra, Lord's Prayer, Christian, scripture, handmade card, Fragrance, Trois Jolies Papillons, Copic, vellum, leafy edged borders, enamel dots" border="0" height="315" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF2KuQl25qpm2GsDbMZlbF28R9XWzO1hFkbw7Uyb3nXizgUowrgcpajFk8zl2TgvMWjMOfFpPyEcP-7XDgOxrFveDRft3xkbBgJIkRwsL3jFjOmiGmQJN6BG_3uT5GGEGOGqI5egSHoj_n/s640/DSC_2368acd.jpg" title="Elizabeth Whisson, Alshandra, Lord's Prayer, Christian, scripture, handmade card, Fragrance, Trois Jolies Papillons, Copic, vellum, leafy edged borders, enamel dots" width="600" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've stamped the Lord's Prayer Script on white cardstock. I've then stamped the image from Fragrance (also available separately as an image called Wild Rose) in clear ink several times onto vellum and embossed with white embossing powder. I did the same with the butterfly which is from the Trois Jolies Papillons stamp set. I used my Copics to colour on the reverse side of the vellum. The vellum has been diecut using Leafy Edged Borders from Our Daily Bread Designs.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Copic colours used: Y15, Y38, YG23, YG17 and R85.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lastly I added some enamel dots.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am entering this card in the <a href="http://www.ourdailybreaddesignsblog.blogspot.com.au/2016/01/odbdslc269-something-new-something-old.html" target="_blank">Something New, Something Old challenge (ODBDSLC269) at Our Daily Bread Designs</a>. The Lord's Prayer and the Trois Jolies Papillons stamp sets are new for me as is the Leafy Edged Border die I used. The enamel dots I've had sitting in my stash for AGES!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thanks for looking!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

Had to get my Copics out today and colour up this gorgeous image from Power Poppy.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKClABeY-psvIQg1mmmjGOf0tjX1jw5EuS8bPsrwE2B6UMNg4tfdHj_qoMyV_AereXa-gkd_1LScI-ilGFvvJeLxEl01ZGgrZDTpqoHKQoI20L7G-gihmPm777-d-P0nETqUOySKNifc3K/s1600/DSC_2374acd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Elizabeth Whisson, Alshandra, Berry It, Power Poppy, digi stamp, Copic, berries, handmade card" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKClABeY-psvIQg1mmmjGOf0tjX1jw5EuS8bPsrwE2B6UMNg4tfdHj_qoMyV_AereXa-gkd_1LScI-ilGFvvJeLxEl01ZGgrZDTpqoHKQoI20L7G-gihmPm777-d-P0nETqUOySKNifc3K/s640/DSC_2374acd.jpg" title="Elizabeth Whisson, Alshandra, Berry It, Power Poppy, digi stamp, Copic, berries, handmade card" width="447" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The image is a digi stamp called Berry It from Power Poppy. I've used the image numerous times, flipping, rotating and erasing parts to make it fit onto other parts of the image. The sentiment is from the same set. It is all printed onto X-Press It blending card and coloured with Copics. The card measures 3.5" x 7.5".</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Copic colours used:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Berries: RV91, BV04, BV08, RV99 and white gel pen</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Leaves: G21, G24, G28 and BG78</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Flowers: RV000, RV02 and BV00 with BV04 in the centres</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Background: B60 and B63</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am entering this card in the <a href="http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com.au/2016/01/new-year-new-challenge.html" target="_blank">Stretch Yourself PowerPoppy challenge</a>. I have used a tall format card and the Berry It digi image is new to me. Making tall cards is also new to me.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thanks for looking.</div>

Just popping in quickly to share a card I made. I coloured this image up a few days ago using watercolour pencils but only got around to making it into a card today.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL8cAdZNtOayGnEqtpg3q6NTaoOVkWYLZsAmFfnasrc4DSBd4EFN_csYM3iQDjoitD-pk9668AIzYU2QmNPG7RSMMhZPXsoIAWB1iSYpRSnkeDB70x_d4UPhC0fh81a9_XR0dEvFQ0zC7T/s1600/DSC_2381acd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Elizabeth Whisson, Power Poppy, Hellebores, watercolour, Alshandra, Mother's Day" border="0" height="600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL8cAdZNtOayGnEqtpg3q6NTaoOVkWYLZsAmFfnasrc4DSBd4EFN_csYM3iQDjoitD-pk9668AIzYU2QmNPG7RSMMhZPXsoIAWB1iSYpRSnkeDB70x_d4UPhC0fh81a9_XR0dEvFQ0zC7T/s640/DSC_2381acd.jpg" title="Elizabeth Whisson, Power Poppy, Hellebores, watercolour, Alshandra, Mother's Day" width="600" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The image is a digi called Hellebores from Power Poppy. Power Poppy have a challenge at the moment to <a href="http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com.au/2016/01/new-year-new-challenge.html" target="_blank">"Stretch Yourself"</a>, so I've stretched the digi vertically before printing onto watercolour card. The whole card measures 3.5" x 6". I've then used my Scorbug thing to make the pierced dots around the edge (first time I've actually used it on a card even though I've had it for about 3 or so years now!).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The sentiment is also a digi from Power Poppy from the Flowering Branches set. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You can find all the details about the <a href="http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com.au/2016/01/new-year-new-challenge.html" target="_blank">PowerPoppy Stretch Yourself challenge here</a>. I've stretched the digi, used a tall card format (which is new for me) and used my scorbug for the first time!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thanks for looking!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

I coloured up another <a href="http://ourdailybreaddesigns.com/" target="_blank">Our Daily Bread Designs</a> image, this one is a flower - <a href="http://ourdailybreaddesigns.com/stargazer-lily.html" target="_blank">Stargazer Lily</a>. I decided to go for a nice and bright orange / yellow / green colour scheme.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUXNwtXUbvI55_5Fqjw99YpJGeM40FujjCECo3xxhzRpKuC1ur8UdvPBayHgyO2mEfri1iqIgcGR9Lg8onUrxrMbhcq9mRgD_N0zEyGNIO7FO8Tr2D0UV7fRxeIdDb0WA2mdBUZU5v84Pa/s1600/DSC_2278acd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Our Daily Bread Designs, Elizabeth Whisson, Copics, Stargazer Lily, Boho Blessings, Layered Lacey Squares, Christian Faith Collection, Butterfly, Trois Jolies Papillon" border="0" height="459" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUXNwtXUbvI55_5Fqjw99YpJGeM40FujjCECo3xxhzRpKuC1ur8UdvPBayHgyO2mEfri1iqIgcGR9Lg8onUrxrMbhcq9mRgD_N0zEyGNIO7FO8Tr2D0UV7fRxeIdDb0WA2mdBUZU5v84Pa/s640/DSC_2278acd.jpg" title="Our Daily Bread Designs, Elizabeth Whisson, Copics, Stargazer Lily, Boho Blessings, Layered Lacey Squares, Christian Faith Collection, Butterfly, Trois Jolies Papillon" width="600" /></a></div>

It is then popped up on foam tape. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year. I've enjoyed a nice week and a half off (back to work tomorrow - yay, not!).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I haven't picked up my Copics since I had made the <a href="http://alshandra.blogspot.com.au/2015/12/teachers-gifts.html">teacher's gifts</a> so I thought it was time to do some colouring and the current challenge at <a href="http://www.ourdailybreaddesignsblog.blogspot.com.au/2015/12/odbdslc268-anything-goes-with-odbd.html" target="_blank">Our Daily Bread Designs, ODBDSLC268, anything goes with ODBD stamp</a>s, was a perfect opportunity to colour up some ODBD stamps!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For my card I have coloured up these gorgeous <a href="http://ourdailybreaddesigns.com/dolphins.html" target="_blank">Our Daily Bread Designs Dolphins</a>. You can buy them just as the picture, <a href="http://ourdailybreaddesigns.com/dolphins.html" target="_blank">Dolphins</a>, or as a set, <a href="http://ourdailybreaddesigns.com/under-the-sea.html" target="_blank">Under the Sea</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I love dolphins and feel so blessed to live by the ocean where there are quite a few of them around. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I made a quick speed colouring video of my Copic colouring of this image. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
See my <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKjd8lN5eY9eK5UWez-zUQA" target="_blank">You Tube channel</a> or the <a href="https://youtu.be/gY9nP4560uA" target="_blank">video directly here</a>.<br />
(For Copic Marker colours used please see the video.)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They have been cut out using <a href="http://ourdailybreaddesigns.com/stitched-ovals-dies.html" target="_blank">ODBD Stitched Ovals dies</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The DP I've used is <a href="http://ourdailybreaddesigns.com/christian-faith-collection-6x6-paper-pad.html" target="_blank">ODBD Christian Faith Collection</a> and I've coloured over both pieces with Copic marker B02 before diecutting using <a href="http://ourdailybreaddesigns.com/leafy-edged-border-dies.html" target="_blank">ODBD Leafy Edged Borders</a>. The edges have been inked with Distress Ink Salty Ocean.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The word has been cut twice using <a href="http://ourdailybreaddesigns.com/csbd82-hello-die.html" target="_blank">ODBD Hello die</a> and stacked on top of each other to give some height.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lastly I've added some glossy accents.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
