ODBDSLC237 - Colour challenge

Wow - I can't believe it is May already!!
Since it is the first week of the month, Our Daily Bread Designs has a colour challenge this week!

Here is my card:
Elizabeth Whisson, Our Daily Bread Designs, Flourished Star Pattern dies, ODBD, Daisy chain, daisychain, background die, butterfly, Fancy Fritillary, Butterfly and Bugs, Spread your wings, colours, rainbow, clouds and raindrops, handmade card, Copics, Copic airbrush, Copic sketch, chisel nib, ABS, ODBDSLC237

And these are the awesome colours you can choose from (must choose at least 3):

As you can see I have used all of the colours this week and I had so much fun making my card.

My card base is Bazzill heavyweight marshmallow cardstock. I've then diecut a piece (using the same cardstock) using the largest die from ODBD Flourished Star Pattern Dies. I then airbrushed this with my Copic markers diagonally across the layer. I used R29, Y06, YR07, G03, G28, B16 and B01.

I diecut my next layer using ODBD Daisy Chain Background Die and inked it with Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade while still in the die.

My large butterfly is vellum diecut using ODBD Fancy Fritillary dies (brand new in the May 2015 release) and then I've coloured it using an orange glitter pen. The small butterflies are also diecut from vellum and I've used ODBD Butterfly and Bugs dies (also brand new in the May 2015 release). These dies have matching stamps (Our Daily Bread Designs Butterfly and Bugs) but I didn't use them here on my card. I've airbrushed my little butterflies using the same Copic colours as the background.

Copics won't rub off vellum; however, they tend to be streaky if you colour straight onto the vellum using the marker nibs. By using the Copic airbrush system you can get a smoother coverage with no streaks.

I've bent each of the butterflies' wings up (I used the "wrong end" of my tweezers to bend the wings around - so that you're left with a thin strip in the middle that will sit flat with the page so you can adhere the butterflies to your page).

The two clouds are diecut using ODBD Clouds and Raindrops dies and I've stamped the sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs Spread Your Wings in one of them. Both clouds are popped up on foam tape.

Here is another photo from a different angle:

When I look at this card it reminds me of the wondrous beauty that God has created for us to admire. From beautiful butterflies to amazing mountains and the millions of stars in the universe! So many colours and patterns for us to admire! How blessed are we to be able to enjoy this earth for a time. And then one day we will be somewhere even more amazing and more spectacular - in heaven with God Himself!

Thanks for looking!
