Mixed Media Project - Part 2

This is a two part post. You can see the first part here.

Continuing on....
I only ordered my Gesso Primer and texture paste a few weeks ago and this is the first project I have used them on. I had used the gesso, so I had to give the texture paste a try. I decided that I wanted some more butterflies in the sky. I mixed the texture paste (I have Golden Gel Mediums Light Molding Paste - closest thing I could come to texture paste - the other ones were sold out at the time) with some Distress Ink "Squeezed Lemonade" and Fairy Dust Glitter "Pralines & Cream". I had already taped down a Prima Marketing Finnabair butterfly stencil and masked off any butterflies that I wasn't going to use. Then I applied my altered texture paste using an old silicone spatula that I found in my kitchen! Worked perfectly! Other blogs that I have read said they use a plastic knife or old plastic card or even a bone scorer. I haven't tried any of those items but found my silicone spatula worked fantastically.

I added a sun and cloud (from Flourishes "April Showers") using Memento "Danube Blue", "Tangelo" and "Dandelion" in the top right corner.

I then stamped another butterfly from Flourishes "Friendship and Flowers" set in Memento "Bahama Blue" ink in the top left corner.

Finally glued my "leaves" on using X-Press It TripleTac Glue. I added a cute little "handmade" hand (my mum gave me a packet of them and they are soooo cute!) to the brown "leaf" - keep reading for a close up further down :-)
I had some flowers in my stash that I made quite a while ago so I'm not entirely sure of the colours or cardstock I used but they are Spellbinders Shapeabilities Spiral Blossom One. I also added some glossy accents to the leaves, "LORD" and the two yellow butterflies.

I then added some AnnaBelle Stamps 3 mm sprinkles (#21 Turquoise, #9 Sapphire, #32 Cornflower, #31 Pumpkin, #2 Pineapple and #13 Avocado). I glued these on using tweezers and glossy accents. Then added a dragonfly (from my stash), and some paper flowers (also from my stash). These are also glued on with glossy accents. I then decided that the leaves looked a little "bare" and needed something extra. Found this purple "jewel leaf" in my stash (not sure of the brand but my mum gave them to me :-) ) and wrapped it around the brown leaf.

Right at the end I decided that it needed just that extra touch of sparkle. I sprayed Lindy's Stamp Gang Starbust "Yellow Rose of Texas" from the top right corner and LSG Moon Shadow Mist "Pegleg Pete Purple" from the bottom right corner. Then sprayed Clearsnap Smooch Spritz "Vanilla Shimmer" over the whole project. I used my "dirty" Copic colourless blender (I keep a spare for occasions such as these :-) ) to remove the glimmer sprays from the sprinkles, glossy accents and dragonfly's body.

And now for some close ups of the finished project:
The close-up of that gorgeous little "handmade" hand :-) I love it!

This verse is so true and one I use to remind myself the He is always there for us :-)

Showing the "sparkle" the project has.
See part 1 for another picture of the whole project.

The only thing I haven't done is sealed the project. I have a gel medium that I could use but I was worried that it would smudge the water based distress inks I used. I plan to buy some sort of spray sealer and use that. I didn't want to use hairspray as I have read it yellows with age...and I would like my projects to last :-)
