ODBDSLC247 - Inspiration

Here is my card:

Elizabeth Whisson, Our Daily Bread Designs, Garden Path, vellum, handmade card, 2 Corinthians 2:15, Fragrance, Circle ornament dies, embossing, no lines colouring, Copics, Flower Box Fillers, Vintage Ephemera

And this is the inspiration image:
When I looked at the inspiration photo I though about a beautiful garden - but not necessarily in window boxes :-) Then I thought of Our Daily Bread Design's stamp Garden Path. I love this stamp - to me it makes we wonder what is beyond that gate - an immense field of flowers, a huge house with lots of window box flowers or a quaint little cottage??
The sentiment that I chose to pair with the image is 2 Corinthians 2:15. What a beautiful verse!

I've stamped the image from Our Daily Bread Designs Garden Path in light coloured ink (Memento Desert Sand) and coloured the image with Copics. This is called no-lines colouring as you cannot see the outline of the stamp when you've finished colouring.

Copics Colour Used
Clouds: C0, C1, C2, C3, W00, W2
Sky: B0000, B000
Tree trunks: E31, E44, E47, E49
Tree leaves: G43, G46, G99
Brickwall: E11, E15, E08, Q1, W2, W4
Gate / Posts: W1, W2, W4, W5
Path: W1, C2, C3, E11, E71
Arch Plants: YG45, G46, G99
Shrubs: YG13, G24, G46, G28
Grass: YG23, YG17, YG67, G94
Flowers and stems: G99, YG67, R89, V05, V09

I've then stamped the verse from Our Daily Bread Designs Fragrance onto vellum using clear ink and embossed using AnnaBelle Stamps Bark coloured EP. The verse is then diecut using ODBD Circle Ornament Dies.

I've added a small dot of glue to attach the vellum and then placed the flower, diecut from ODBD Flower Box Fillers Dies, on top so you cannot see it (as the vellum is see-through).

I used ODBD Vintage Ephemera Paper Collection to diecut the flower.

I was looking at it thinking, how did she make those tall shrubs and trees look like that then I started thinking no line and sure enough!! I have only done that once and it was not easy for me, you did a wonderful job with it! I love your scene and how it makes you think of what may be on the other side, I love your thoughts about what it could be! Lovely!! Fantastic!

  3. Oh, Elizabeth, your coloring is stellar, and I love that you did no-line coloring. I can definitely imagine walking down this path and finding a beautiful and welcoming cottage. It's a perfect idea for this week's inspiration, and I love the verse you chose! A stunning card, dear friend! Hugs!

  4. Love your take on the inspiration! I love how you colored the scene - like right out of a picture book! It actually makes me think of a scene in one of the Anne of Green Gables series - I would imagine the path to Ms. Lavender's house looking like that!
