Fireworks
Tried my hand at photographing fireworks last night - being Australia Day it was a good opportunity. Probably should have read some tips on photographing fireworks before we went instead of just "winging it" when we got out there - but I'm pretty happy with these first time shots anyway. Although there is still plenty of room for improvement. Small lack of communication between my husband and I meant we weren't quite prepared for tired and hungry kids at a windy beach - but we survived and the kids did enjoy their first time firework show. I took a lot of photos - these are just a small selection - there are more at our Picasa web albums - see here.
Baby Shower
Have seen some beautifully folded cards on the internet and decided to try a tri-shutter card. Found a fantastic tutorial here. It really was a lot easier than it looks! A friend was having a baby shower soon so I decided to make the card for her. Since I didn't know whether she is having a boy or girl I decided to make the card yellow and green - which fits in perfectly with Scrapbook Boutique's January Challenge where you need to make a project using yellow, green and white and their photo as inspiration (see challenge page).
Here are some pictures of my card:

Just Pretty
I must be getting quicker - this card only took me one afternoon instead of a day or two (inbetween tending to kids)! Made this card for The Shabby Tea Room's Week #150 - 'Just Pretty' challenge.
The photos don't seem to show the colours quite right (the flower isn't quite as dark as it seems in the photos) - but that's as close as I could get).
Picture from an angle so you can see the raised flourish and sentiment:

Been so busy these last few weeks... wakeboarding (I took the photos), cars breaking down - and being fixed again by my fantastic husband, back to work after Christmas, breaking my toe, attending a wedding - my sister-in-law and our friend got married! (and 3 out of 4 members of our little family were in the bridal party) - and in between all that found some time to make some cards - just not time to upload them to my website!
So here are two.... one I made for a friend at our church who just had a gorgeous little boy and the other is the wedding card I made.
