It's week 2 for our "In Stitches" challenge, ODBDSLC213, at Our Daily Bread Designs! The design team have created some more projects to keep you inspired! You can see my first projects (4 tags) here using faux stitching.
This week I decided to try my hand at real stitching - not something I do very often on my cards so it was a nice challenge :-)
I have stamped the image from Our Daily Bread Designs Hand Knit onto X-Press It blending card, coloured wtih Copic markers and diecut with ODBD Knitting Basket and Yarn dies.
I have used Bazzill textured card (light brown / fawn) as my card base and a green colour as backing for the fantastic DP - ODBD Soulful Stitches Paper Collection.
The sentiment is also from the Our Daily Bread Designs Hand Knit stamp set and has been diecut using ODBD Pennant dies.
I've added some zig-zag stitching to the strips of ODBD Soulful Stitches Paper Collection that I put across my card and used a bit of frantage embossing powder on some of the panels. Most panels have been inked around the edge using Distress Ink.
You can see that I've used a paper doily on my card; however, a much better option would have been to use Our Daily Bread Designs' newly released doily stamps and/or doily dies (kicking myself I didn't order these now - but I will definitely be including them in my next order)!
Have a look - they are gorgeous:

Below are the sets that I used on my card:

I am entering my card in the Word Art Wednesday challenge #149 - Anything Goes.
Thanks for looking!
This card is so lovely, it could be a picture of fifty years ago right by my grandmother's rocking chair where she knit every time she sat down. The colors are so soft yet full of life. Praying you have a happy day filled with smiles and sunshine. Thank you for joining our 149th challenge at Word Art Wednesday.

Oh, Elizabeth, this is beautiful! I love the rich, warm colors and the wonderful knitting basket! Yes, the doily will make a nice card once you get it! I've done that myself and wished I'd ordered something when I see someone else use it!! This is still gorgeous with the beautiful way you've textured your papers and stitched perfectly! Hugs, sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a warm and beautiful card, Elizabeth. I love your coloring of the knitting image and your use of dp!! The layout with the doily and your added stitching is gorgeous, my friend!
