ODBDSLC211 - Sketch (Week 1)

It's time for a new challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs! The ODBD Shining the Light challenge this fortnight is a Sketch challenge! Here is my card:

And this is the Sketch:

I've kept my card pretty simple and pretty much adhered to the sketch :-) and as you can see I've started making my Christmas cards! I usually end up rushing at the last minute, so thought I'd start a bit earlier this year.

I've stamped the flower image from Our Daily Bread Designs Christmas Rose onto X-Press It blending card and coloured with Copics*. The image is then diecut with Spellbinders lacey ovals and I've sponged some Distress Ink Bundled Sage before removing from the die.

The Merry Christmas sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs Christmas Verses and the DP is from the ODBD Christmas Paper Collection 2013. I've layered the DP with Bazzill textured Pomegrante and also used it as my card base.

We enjoyed an awesome holiday away to Exmouth (about a 16 hour drive north) and did some bush camping on a station near Shark Bay (a few hours south of Exmouth) (both in Western Australia). I mentioned in my post last week that we had already seen God's hand over us on our first day! One of our batteries in the toolbox on our camper trailer decided to "melt" and could've caught fire if we hadn't stopped when we did - and the events that took place, that seemed "random" at the time, looking back now I can see that God was watching over us. It could've been much worse than just losing a battery and my husband having to rewire a few wires! I thought I'd share just a couple of photos from our trip (there were some nice sized fish - but they were all caught at night - and I didn't get any photos!)

This is the Sturt's Desert Pea (Swainsona sp.). This gorgeous flower grows pretty close to the ground and I had to practically lie on the ground to get this photo! It usually has a more distinct black "centre", but the centre can also be red.

Exmouth lighthouse. This photo looks SW.
We are on a peninsula and there is ocean on the W, E and N sides of us.

The beach were we stayed near Shark Bay. Had an awesome "sand bar" that you could walk out on at low tide.

This is the view from the end of the "sand bar" looking back at the mainland.
That's my husband in the distance :-)

Tried my hand at some evening, long exposure photography :-)
Loved seeing all the canola fields on the way home
Thanks for looking!
